Thanks to fellow travel blogger Candice, of Candice Does the World for nominating me for the Capture the Colour contest 2013! The premise? Post five travel pics on your blog that feature the colours blue, red, green, yellow and white. Then, nominate fellow bloggers.
The contest is put on by Travel Supermarket and they are offering up some great prizes!
So without further adieu – here are my entries:
Blue – Every year blue birds migrate to valley areas near Craven, Saskatchewan to take up residence in the birdhouses that sit attached or atop the fence posts. This little fella was the only one I spotted when I made my journey there but I was satisfied as he sat and posed for me for quite a while. Red – This pic of my son was taken during an adventure packed visit to Waskesiu, Saskatchewan. We had just finished a morning of dog sledding through the boreal forest and spent the afternoon tubing on the slopes at Elk Ridge resort.
Green – I met this little boy who was busy gathering water for his community. Taken in rural northern Uganda, Africa.
White – Although I was tempted to pick from one of the zillion shots of snow I have, I opted for something a bit different. This mushroom was harvested by a female farmer from the Bomido village co-operative. Mushroom farming in Uganda, Africa is a way of life that allow many women to make a living.
