I already sense that this will be a life changing experience. Besides the fact that it will be a mission filled with learning, team building and sharing – it’s Africa, a place I have dreamed of visiting! There will be new food to eat, mosquitos to beat and new people to meet!
So, many thanks to all of you who read my story and shared it. I look forward to being able to share more stories of this amazing adventure!!
In other news, I have been steadily trying to up my travel writing repertoire, which admittedly has been a challenge between a full-time job, two kids, two dogs (one being a puppy) and weekend getaways at the cabin where I become bird obsessed (not complaining, only suggesting it leaves less time for travel). So, this will be the nice big push I need to do some serious writing.
As well, I have taken on more freelance pieces for Chatelaine, and most recently, a brand new monthly travel piece for a local magazine which will be a two page spread! I can’t say too much more now, but October will soon be here and then I will share it with you. One thing that I can share is that through my recent writing opportunities I will be able to continue to highlight amazing people from my past and present who are doing great things in this city and beyond, and promote the beautiful province that I live in.
I am so excited about the many opportunities coming my way at the moment. It really goes to show when you put something out there in the universe, it can happen. So, slowly but surely my freelance life is taking shape.
I still plan to continue on this course working full-time as I have a great job. That will mean I will need to get better at juggling the rest of life and my multiple passions. I am sure one day it will all work itself out! Just want to throw some more thanks out there to all of you who have and continue to support me along this journey!
