Interested in hiring me for freelance work, on a contract basis or to work on a collaborative creative project?

Let me hear about all about it! As a classic Jill of many trades, my inability to stick to one area of expertise and my insane quest to be creative in multiple capacities has worked in my favour allowing me to become well rounded in several areas. But that’s why I do what I do – diverse, creative and new challenges are what make it fun for me!

A little about my professional journey.

I’m a trained artist who has spent the past 20+ years in marketing, communications, social and media relations roles. On top of furthering my education in each of these areas, I have a ton of practical experience from developing strategy and creating marketing materials to complex multi-media campaigns.

As an early digital adopter, I am very comfortable online and involved on several social media platforms (with great engagement). I’ve built business cases for social media, started up several accounts for organizations and successfully run accounts for Tourism Regina (I also run their blog), Travel Media Association of Canada, SaskCentral and Bare Envy Laser Treatment Centre, all on top of my own. And measuring the ROI on all creative projects – yep I do that too!

Over the past six years, my focus has shifted to freelance writing and photography (mainly travel but I’ve written about a variety of topics), and consulting. My skill set enables me to work on a variety of projects from directing a photo shoot, to creative brain storming, itinerary development to editorial content, blog management and more.

You bet I like to keep busy.

Consider hiring me if you need help with:

  • Travel writing/photography
  • Brand campaigns
  • Reviews
  • Copy editing or proofreading
  • Freelance writing or blogging
  • Resume writing
  • Photography
  • Social media, communications or marketing strategy development
  • Art direction
  • Brand development

Why hire me?

You can trust you are getting great content! I’m a multiple award winning freelance travel writer and photographer who is as comfortable online as I am with print publications.

I’ve been published in four countries and in four languages! Currently, I contribute to a number of outlets and my work has appeared in the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, Can Geo Travel, Just for Canadian Doctors/Dentists, Ensemble Vacations, Best Health Magazine, My Country Extra (US), Espaces, Nuvo, South China Morning Post, My Spotlight Kanada/USA,,, Westworld, Chatelaine and more. I’ve also work as a travel columnist for CBC Saskatchewan (radio) and am currently a contributor to Global Regina (tv).

*Please do not use my articles or images without consent, rather contact me directly if you are interested in an image.

I am well certified and respected by my peers. Professional associations include media accredited memberships with the Society for American Travel Writers, the Travel Media Association of Canada, the North American Travel Journalists Association and the Adventure Travel Trade Association.

I have worked successfully with several DMO’s, brands, advertising agents and fellow writers/photographers. I really love to create and I work hard to ensure any project with my name on it is a success.

As long as I am creating, I am complete. Client satisfaction is of the upmost importance to me.

So if you are an …

Editor. I work with a number of outlets and have great working relationships with all of my editors (past and present). If I haven’t pitched you and you think we should work together, I’d love to chat story ideas. I am also more than happy to be a resource if you are seeking content on all things Saskatchewan and/or travel in Canada, which are my areas of expertise (niche areas also include adventure travel, family/girl getaway/spa travel and profiles).

Please refer to my writing portfolio to better understand my voice as a writer. I have done advertorials as well, though admittedly, I prefer to write about content I understand very well and have an interest in.

*Note – Many of my articles and photos are available for republishing. If there is a particular story or blog post you feel is a fit for your publication or if you are keen to have me cover a story angle, please contact me at [email protected].

PR Rep/Tourism Agency. Prior to pitching me, please take a look around my site and peruse my writing portfolio and posts to get a feel for how and what I write. I am open to working with destinations that offer distinguishable value for my readers. Most of which are North American (Canadian followed by U.S. readers).

Non-profit and for profit organizations. Need help getting started with social media? Or perhaps you require some assistance with a marketing campaign or communications strategy? With over 15 years experience in this industry, I’ve done everything from run successful digital media campaigns to brand development work to building websites from scratch (look and feel + architecture, not coding however), and much more in between.

Sponsored posts, reviews and other content: I have worked with apps, brands, ran contests and done previews and reviews. All of which have felt right for me and my site. If you have a proposal you think I would be interested in, please send it my way. Be cautioned I need to make a living, so if you are hoping for free exposure for your content, it’s probably best to look elsewhere.

Warning: I am choosy about where I go and do not accept trips just for travel’s sake. I am invested in producing quality content for destinations on subjects that are a fit for areas I cover or outlets I represent. However, I am open to new ideas on subjects I haven’t covered so if you think there is something I may be into but haven’t written about, please feel free to drop me a line.

For information on my rates, questions about your projects or needs, email me at [email protected]. I am also happy to provide references.

I am fun to work with, passionate about what I do get the job done and done well. I promise. Don’t just take my word for it.
