Instameet Regina: All the deets you need to know

Instameet Regina – our first official event is coming to you soon!

How soon? August 27th soon!

If you are reading this for the first time, wondering what this Instameet thingy is all about, be sure to go back to this post – where I first announced the event and what it’s all about. So, not wanting to repeat myself, this post will be all about what you need to know and why you should totally plan to come.

Instameet Regina deets.

Instameet Regina #imyqr

We have a time and date.

The Instameet will take place on Thursday, August 27 and will run from 6:30 sharp until after 8. We ask that all participants pre-register between 5:45-6:15 p.m. at Wascana Place. The purpose of the registration is to not only get a count, but to have contact information for prizing.

We have a route.

We will start at Wascana Park and end in downtown Regina, with a sweet little wind up celebration (complete w/appetizers) at Famoso Neapolitan Pizza! You can start with us and follow along all the way through, or if you please, make your own pathway and meet up with everyone at the end.

If the route is too long for you to walk, feel free to park at Wascana Park and drive downtown – whatever works for you.

For those who will be parking in Wascana Park please be aware that there will be an event happening inside of Wascana Place on August 27th. Please park in the Marina Parking Lot which is located south of Wascana Place.

Here is the proposed route (click here to view live in Google):

We have partners.

We are proud to announce that we have some wonderful partners who have put up prizing for our inaugural Instameet. They include: Tourism Regina, Tourism Saskatchewan, Western Litho Printers Famoso Neapolitan Pizza, CBC Saskatchewan, and iQmetrix, with help from Wascana Centre and Downtown Regina.

We have a hashtag.

Hopefully you are already following our Instameet Instagram account @instameetyqr. Now the important part – we have a special hashtag we want you to use: (now and during the event – I will explain more in a bit) #IMYQR.

It would also be to your advantage to include the following hashtags to allow our partners such as Tourism Regina and Tourism Saskatchewan to share and feature your images. Their tags are: #SeeYQR and #ExploreSask. Heck if I were you, I’d throw in #ExploreCanada too!

We have prizes!

And you can start by entering now. Our early bird prize includes a gift card ($40 value) for the lovely Willow on Wascana restaurant, and two pairs of passes to the Saskatchewan Science Centre ~ courtesy of Tourism Regina (and aforementioned partners).

  1. Simply upload your images of Wascana Park and/or downtown Regina using the #IMYQR tag on Instagram.
  2. Make sure you are following @InstameetYQR on Instagram.
  3. Show up at the event on August 27 to claim the early bird prize.

The first 20 to register at the event will win t-shirts courtesy of Tourism Saskatchewan.

We will also be giving away a CBC prize package post event.

And last but not least, our grand prize draw will be made post event and randomly drawn from those who register for the event. That means, you have to be there and participate to win. And, it’s worth it, as thanks to iQmetrix, we are pleased to be doling out one $500 Visa gift card!

Only those who have registered and participated at the event will be eligible.

We hope you will join Regina’s first ever Instameet!

Remember this event is open to everyone and its 100% FREE! Come together with your community whether you shoot with an iPhone or camera, whether you want to network or learn, or even if you just want to come out for a walk! Everyone is welcome.

And if you you wouldn’t mind – please share this event! We would love to have a great turnout. Cheers!

*In the event of inclement weather, we will reschedule the Instameet. Please watch our Instagram account the day of for announcements.
