It’s no surprise that many rare species are found in the remote region of northern Madagascar, a vast island nation that lies east of the African continent. It’s a special place. Isolated for millions of years from the African mainland, Madagascar boasts a great variety of endemic and exotic flora and fauna. It’s estimated that of the species found on the island, 75 per cent occur nowhere else on earth.
